The London branch of Cartier was helmed by Jacques Cartier who served as the firm's gemstone expert and was known for his artist's eye.
Jacques was particularly fond of Aquamarines. He thought they look both fresh and elegant, eminently suitable for independent-minded women of the era.
Under his direction, the Cartier London workshop was recognized for its original designs and the consistently high quality of its craftsmanship.
Workshop developed a distinct stylistic identity, separate from Paris and New York, and one sought after by those clients seeking unique jewels.
